collaborations

putting the plus into troika+ ltd

From the very start of Troika+Ltd we realised that collaboration is EVERYTHING. It is within successful collaborations that projects production values can be raised ten fold and new skills are learnt. On every project of ours we have collaborated with the finest Actors, Make Up Artists, Special Effects Artists, Musicians, Writers, Producers,…even Caterers.

We don’t work with just anyone though, we seek out talent the likes of which impresses in an instant and look for collaborators that show similar ideologies and commitment. Those with skill, ideas, alternative thinking and above all else…PASSION for what they do.

Personality is everything, ego has no place. Troika+Ltd founders will happily wear the cap of various crew positions to collaborate with other filmmakers and filmmaking talents in the UK. We display the same amount of commitment to other peoples projects, the same passion so that we can see others work, learn their skills, spread our contacts.

As such Troika+Ltd has quickly become a name in the South Yorkshire independent filmmaking scene that holds respect and we are honoured to work with some fine talents.

David & Tom Howell

SkaterDavid and Tom Howell (The Leicester Boys) are the hottest writing team working in the UK and are integral to TROIKA+Ltd's comedy output. The Leicester Boys are currently working on several projects with Troika, and they in high demand for broadcast work. Their writing style cannot be easily defined which is why they work so well with Troika+Ltd. Cutting edge, risqué, hilarious, edgy and clever is how their work has been described by people they have collaborated with, all of whom have been amazed by their attention to detail and biting satire. They react in minutes to topical events, producing writing that most seasoned professionals would only dream
of!

SkaterWhat they produce is well-written, well-developed characters, believable in the world they inhabit and that world is our world. Which is something that they bring to startling light! The Leicester Boys see new characters everywhere they go, so the chances are if you know them, you have contributed to their impressive body of work. You have been warned!

What makes this awesome writing combo stand out from their peers is how they beautifully craft a wonderfully funny script, which pulls you into a bizarre skewed world where comedy is neither dark nor light. You are often not even sure you SHOULD be laughing, such is their talent. Their unique brand of humour takes very real situations, and very real people and through amazing writing provides laughs, disbelief and a gripping story.

These guys are NOT one-gag merchants; they don't rely on catch phrases or gimmicks. What they write is on the money, current, up to date socially and politically astute material. Did I mention that they act too? So they know what works for actors and are sensitive towards this. Is there anything they can't do? Of course not, that's why Troika+Ltd were so keen to work with them.

So they are comedy writers I hear you ask? Well there's that, but these guys can write in any style and what is obvious is their ability to write realistic, driven dialogue in any genre and build a story that compels the viewer, grips their imagination and leaves them feeling they have experienced something worthwhile and special. Check back to Troika+Ltd regularly for their development into other styles and genres....you won't believe how good they are.Between the two brothers, they encompass a mastery of all styles from Comedy through horror, to romance, action and anything they believe is worthy of their attention and they believe will entertain their audience. This is what makes them click with Troika+Ltd, another team who can, have and will do it all. Expect great, no, AMAZING things, as this is a collaboration that can only succeed....it already has!

"Working with the Troika+Ltd boys is like working with no one else. I first met Lee Civico-Cambell on the set of another companies shoot and we instantly clicked and shared the same sense of humour. Lee asked me if I would be interested in working on a project that he and a friend were working on and I gladly took the job. The task was to create the makeup of a demon possessed girl in the legendary first episode of GAYLON PEGLEGG EXORCIST!

After meeting Ricardo Lacombe I instantly knew that these two film makers were the business, they know exactly they want to achieve in a film, and being like me, by not doing courses or training in film school etc we have an extremely similar outlook about film production. They make films with a passion and can picture exactly how shots will work, and even though they prepare every thing down to a T including camera angles and set design, they are not afraid to quickly try a new idea there on
set, and are never afraid of a challenge! But the main thing I love about working
with Troika+Ltd is there sense of humour on set and I never feel pressured when set a task by them, they always maintain a friendly environment from pre production, to on set, to post production, Lee and Ricardo always keep everyone motivated and there directing and social skills are unbeatable.

Not only this but the Troika+Ltd boys always let me know that my work is appreciated and keep me doing what I love, I am always stupidly exited when ever I get a phone call inviting me onto the set of a Troika+ production"

“I’ve only recently started working with Troika+Ltd and I’ve got to say how impressed I am. They were so respectful and thankful at my work and I got to have such a great time on set with them too.

I was really impressed how fast and passionate they work and yet the quality is amazing. I met them though their work on other crew’s projects and they were so nice in asking me to come and work on some of their most important work to date!

I work really hard at my craft and it’s nice to be respected and rewarded by having such a great time and seeing my work done justice. I look forward to working with them on more projects in the future”

"I had the pleasure of working with Troika+Ltd on my bands music video for our song 'Amigo Mio'. I was very lucky to pair up with Troika. The professionalism, dedication to detail and sensitivity to my music was unsurpassable. During the videos 2 week prodcution I was consulted regularly on all aspects of production to make sure that I would be happy with the end product.

In the end I was completely bowled over by the quality and style of the music video. All of my initial concerns (this being our first video) had been taken into account without exception and the creativity in interpretation was fantastic.

Altogether a rewarding experience. Since making the video I have been in contact with Troika+Ltd for other projects and I would gladly work with them again and recommend them in the future"

TREVOR HOLEWINSKI – Poker Website host

I own and run a popular Poker Information website called PokerPlasm.com.  I came across Lee Cambell through the TV show, UltimatePoker Showdown.

I watched as he learned and grew into a very good poke rplayer.  Subsequently I interviewed him and he became a instant hit in the world of online poker.

We became fast friends and when Ricardo and Lee released their film, A Jester's Tale, PokerPlasm was the only site allowed to promote it.  Our traffic increased due to the film trailer and people could not wait to see it. The film was spectacular, Ricardo and Lee have true talent that very little people can compete with.  The scenes were top notch professionalism that combined excellent music and visual aesthetics.

I was so happy to work with both gentlemen.  They increased PokerPlasm's awareness through increased traffic and helped build my business to where it is now.
